Jewel Mahavia Strong - Missing 5/2006 Panama City Beach, FL
Please take one minute to review the photos below. She was about 2.5 years old in all pictures except the one with the bathing suit which was taken the day she went missing.
Jewel Mahavia Strong was last seen on Panama City Beach, Florida on May 28th 2006 (Memorial Day weekend). She is 3 years old (born April 14th, 2003) and was 3 years old when she disappeared from the kiddie pool area on the Jetty Beach in St. Andrews State Park. She was about 40 pounds at the time she went missing. Authorities concluded that she drowned even though they were unable to provide us with a body. We believe with all our heart and soul that Jewel is alive and that whoever has her is taking care of her BUT her rightful place is with her family.
Jewel was born on the Maternity Ward show so her birth was quite exciting on top of the excitement of a live birth. She started singing and dancing when she was 5 months old - yes! before she was even walking. NO JOKE! She held onto the wall and moved up and down and just sang her song. She still loves to sing and dance and she loves to talk, hug and give loving kisses. She goes by the nickname "Princess Girl".
If you have any information about Jewel's whereabouts please contact us below. We love you, appreciate you and THANK GOD FOR YOU!

First of all, I'm very sorry for your loss. I can't even begin to imagine the pain of losing a child.
After reading some of your story I have a few questions.
from your webpage ...
<" CASE FACTS:
• My cousin was on the raft with my daughter prior to their float/raft capsizing. My Cousin had to be resuscitated, hospitalized and medicated because she was in shock or shaken up by what had just happened.
So…where is Jewel? Were they not able to rescue her? Hmmm?
• No one questioned the volunteer coast guard boaters that pulled my 18 year old cousin out of the water and resuscitated her. Frank Collins, the investigator, told me he asked US Coast Guard for reports but none were made by these coast guard volunteer boaters who rescued her. US Coast Guard volunteers rescues and resuscitate my cousin but they don’t file a report? That is hard to believe. Hmmm? >"
Does this mean your 18 year old cousin did not know how to swim?
Did your little daughter know how to swim?
Also, you said your daughter disappeared by the kiddie pool? And the Coast Guard came to the rescue?

Why on earth...
didn't little Jewel (and the 18-year-old) have a life jacket on if they didn't know how to swim? My daughter doesn't go to the kiddie pool, much less a beach, without a life jacket. People don't just take children into their homes and start raising them as their own. I understand that it must be hard to accept, especially considering that her life would have been spared if she'd only had on a life jacket, but blaming everyone else in the world isn't going to change what happened to Jewel, and that it could have been prevented with a little bit of appropriate water safety.

Thank you to all who have supported us during this time! A press conference has been scheduled for later July 2007. We are sure this will generate a positive lead. Stay tuned! www.thestrong.biz or www.letsfindjewelstrong.com. We are faithful that this will lead to the return of our daughter. We love you all for your support and God bless you! We could not have done this without people who read our story and believed with us!

Sad but true
As I read the details of this story I am saddened. These parents suffered a terrible loss and as is expected they are devestated by it. However, the fact is that their daughter is not missing. Although her body was not found; which is not unusual in drownings, she surely did not survive. It is not logical to believe that this child was on a raft which turned over, she went under and then was abducted by a stranger. While I understand that the parents are having a difficult time moving forward, others should not encourage them. That was not Jewel in those videos and while that child may have resembled their daughter it is a fact that this is not their child. I have seen many children that resemble Jewel, and while I do not doubt that Jewels parents sincerely believe that this is their child, it surely is not. While I certainly empathize with these parents, it would be helpful for them to seek counseling to assist them in dealing with their loss and not continue to have people search for a child that is not missing. It is unfortunate that her body was never found so that these parents could have some closure and peace.
