assuming the missing person is still alive, does anyone have any tips on how you can find someone using technology and other resources? sometimes i think we just over look the easy stuff, also is there any way we can get around name changes? if anyone knows any resources that would be great

I don't think there is :) but maybe, I'm not sure! But I'm hoping their is...
But for me the only thing we can do in most cases like this is cooperation and prayers, we should help each other to solve this kind of problem, especially the police and other imbestigators or secret agent:)

Well there is, I found this one in the internet...
Retina scanning technology proposed to identify missing people.
Look more on this news....
I got this in... http://www.boston.com/news/local/massachusetts/articles/2005/05/27/retina_scanning_technology_proposed_to_identify_missing_people?mode=PF
Techonology nowadays are very hi-tech, hpefully more technology that can possibly help would be invent sooner.

You can do an online internet search to find people, which is a good thing I suppose. Another great online resource is background checks. Really cool.
One other thing I don't understand is why people are hiding.
Ways to find people:
internet search
phonebook search
private investigator
those are the top three I recommend for someone who is considered "hiding" and was not abducted.

This sounds more like a relationship problem, than a missing-person's problem. Why does he avoid you? If he doesn't want to talk to you, you won't ever be able to get what you want. You'll just make things worse if you violate his right to privacy.

Well I don't know if it is as easy as this but have you tried going onto something like www.whitepages.com and do a search by his name and the state that he lives in? If you do find it please don't call with any expections as you may be setting yourself up for a great dissappointment.
This is sad I know my sister is like this, but nothing you can do if the legal age and all. There seems to be a bigger underlying issue that needs to be resolved and untill it is you may continue to have to hear from him this way.
